All of the care delivered by SEIN falls under the basic health insurance package. SEIN has entered into contracts with all insurers. Reimbursement for the care provided at SEIN is therefore usually 100%.
Examine your policy
It is only if you have a budget policy or a so-called ‘natura’ (in-kind) policy that your insurer may reimburse less than 100% of the invoice. If that is the case, the insurer will decide which healthcare institutions you can receive 100% healthcare reimbursement for and those institutions for which reimbursement will be at a lower rate. Thus it is the nature of the policy that determines whether the care provided at SEIN is fully reimbursed. To be sure about this, we would ask you to either check your policy or contact your healthcare insurer.
Deductible
Everyone aged 18 years and over pays a compulsory deductible (or excess) towards treatment received under their healthcare insurance. This means that in 2024 you will pay the first €385 of the cost of healthcare provided under the basic healthcare package yourself. This sum has been fixed by the government. You can opt to increase the deductible. Care provided to children under 18 years of age is not subject to a deductible.
Healthcare insurers that have a contract with SEIN
The healthcare insurers that have entered into a contract with SEIN are shown in the list of contracted insurers. SEIN has reached agreements with all Dutch healthcare insurers for 2024. If your insurer does not have a contract with SEIN, the so-called “passer-by rate” (passantentarief) will be applied. Contact your insurer to find out what this means for you. You will pay this rate in any case if you are uninsured or insured abroad.
Contacting your healthcare insurer
When contacting your healthcare insurer, you should always specify SEIN’s main site in Heemstede, even if you are not receiving treatment at the main site. Besides naming SEIN’s Heemstede site, you should also quote the relevant AGB (healthcare provider identifier) code: 06060702. This information will enable the insurer to assist you further.
Time between treatment and invoicing
A long time may pass between your visit to SEIN and the time when you receive an invoice from SEIN or from the healthcare insurer. You should bear this in mind, especially if you have to pay part of the bill yourself. SEIN will, in all cases, apply its general terms and conditions of payment.
You can contact your healthcare insurer with any questions about reimbursement for your treatment.
